An Unattended Service

With direct / “Pure” cremation or burial becoming increasingly popular, we felt it would be helpful to explain what a ‘direct cremation’ with H Tredwin & Son involves, as each funeral director approaches this service slightly differently.

We call this type of service our ‘Unattended Service’.

  • Just as we do for every family, regardless of the type of service chosen. We will bring your loved one into our care as soon as possible, whether that’s during or outside of standard working hours.

We also care for everyone with the same dignity and attention, no matter the service selected.

  • We do both direct cremation or burial. Both unattended by family or friends, both treated with the upmost respect and dignity.

  • While some funeral directors may not offer this with their direct services - we will allow you to tell us a date and location that best suits you.

We understand direct isn’t simply a cost effective option, but an option to do things differently and it may be that you want to celebrate your way while the delivery / cremation is taking place.

  • We have come to understand that for the vast majority of people opting for a direct service, what you want is simplicity, privacy and the ability to say goodbye and celebrate life away from traditional funeral spaces, and so viewings aren’t often called upon and so our costs reflect this.

If you would like a viewing all you have to do is let us know as soon as possible so we have time to prepare your loved one for viewing.

There will be an additional charge for this as the standard cost doesn’t include the preparation and staff time required for this.
